A  day after senior BJP leader and MLC H Vishwanath questioned the government's silence over Muslim vendors being banned at temple fairs, yet another BJP MLA from Belagavi North, Anil Benake, has reacted to the controversy saying that it is wrong to advocate people where to purchase and where not to purchase, reiterating that Muslims will not be banned from setting up shops at temple fairs. Statements from BJP leaders are coming at a time when the government has given the right wing organisations a free hand to put up banners asking temple authorities to ban Muslims from putting up stalls during fairs.
