All India Imam Association President Maulana Sajid Rashidi commented on the Babri Masjid issue, emphasizing that India is governed by the Constitution rather than any religious scripture. He said "The Constitution runs the country, not the Geeta or the Quran. The Constitution grants the right to construct places of worship. If a mosque is being constructed in the name of Babar, it is not unconstitutional. Mamata Banerjee has engaged in politics on this issue more than anyone else. If this is considered communal politics, why is she not being arrested?
