Speaking to NDTV at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Schneider Electric India MD & CEO Deepak Sharma highlighted India's growing importance as one of the company's largest global markets. Emphasising energy efficiency over mere expansion of generation capacity, Sharma said India's energy future depends on intelligent consumption, grid modernisation and digitalisation. He underlined the role of energy intelligence alongside artificial intelligence, stressing that efficient energy use, resilient grids and sustainable data centre architectures will be critical as India's energy demand surges, particularly with the rise of AI-driven infrastructure.
