Emergency ambulance services cripple across Assam - Over three thousand drivers on protests, about 500 ambulances back on road In Assam emergency medical response ambulances service of the state govt has hit a bear shut down , with an indefinite strike of the emergency ambulances driver and nearly 800 ambulances remaining off road. Govt sources, has informed that despite protests , they have made alternate arrangements - ambulances are back to service , numbers are lesser though - out of 800 ambulances across the state under the service , about 500 have been made operational again. However, the govt has taken strong action , against what it feel purposeful attempt to shut down emergency services and have suspended over 100 protesting driver , govt sources added. Hundreds of 108 Mrityunjoy ambulance employees have launched an indefinite statewide protest ,the agitating employees are demanding job regularisation, fair wages, equal work, equal salary, and clearance of pending overtime dues.
