Assam News | Assam Starts Probe Into Death Of Newborn After Falling From Icu Crib

After Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had expressed grief and anger over what he called “gross negligence” on the tragic death of a 15-day-old infant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at GMCH, today the stage govt has started its two pronged probe. A three member high level probe panel has been set up and the Guwahati police is also probing an FIR by the father of the infant . Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the hospital on Monday evening to take stock following the incident. In yet another development ,Guwahati Police has taken a suo moto case on complaint of patients that some lower ranked staffs have been asking money for providing medical service at the medical College , seven such trolley pullers have been arrested.
