Assam Floods: Boats Ply on NH-715 as Highway Goes Underwater in Sivasagar

The flood situation in Assam remains critical, with Sivasagar district among the worst affected. In several stretches, floodwaters have overtopped National Highway 715 (NH-715), a crucial route connecting Upper Assam to Guwahati and providing access to parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. While one carriageway remains open for vehicular traffic, the other has been transformed into a waterway. Instead of cars, country boats are ferrying people between flood-hit villages and the highway, highlighting the scale of disruption caused by the floods. Road connectivity remains affected as residents rely on boats for daily movement and access to essential services. Watch NDTV's Ratnadip Choudhury report from the ground on how communities in Sivasagar are coping with the flood crisis.
