As farm fires continue to rise in Punjab, Delhi's air quality is again in the "poor" category. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi is at 300 today. For the next two days, the AQI is expected to remain in the "very poor" category. The SAFAR model for fire counts around Haryana and Punjab said that between Saturday and Sunday morning, over 1,230 fires were seen. Yesterday, Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar had said that air pollution is not a problem of Delhi and its corporations alone but that of a big airshed around it that includes the National Capital Region (NCR) and that the centre and the four NCR states have to work together to tackle the problem.
