Delhi University's North Campus has got its first Pink Booth at Miranda House, meant to enhance women's safety through round-the-clock assistance by female police officers, but a ground report by NDTV's Tanushka Dutta shows the larger initiative is faltering.
While Delhi Police data says around 120 Pink Booths exist across the capital, many at South and Central Delhi colleges were found locked, dusty and non-functional for years, with students unaware of their presence. Police officials admit staffing shortages have stalled operations but claim efforts are underway to revive the booths, raising questions about why a key women's safety initiative has struggled on the ground.
