Film critic Anupama Chopra says in her review of Dune 2, this visual spectacle can boast of images that are "Hypnotic, haunting." She says, "There are visuals that border on poetry." However,  grappling with ideas of colonization, violence, power and religion, Dune 2 "flatlines between the human drama and the epic scale.''
