Andhra Pradesh Fire | Massive Blaze After Gas Explosion at ONGC Site in Andhra’s Konaseema

Dramatic visuals have emerged from Andhra Pradesh where a massive fire broke out following a gas explosion at an ONGC drilling site in Malikipuram mandal of Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema district. Officials say the blaze erupted during perforation work at an existing well, triggering a gas blowout that led to the fire. The site was originally drilled by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and later abandoned, before being sub-leased to Deep Industries in September 2024. Operations had recently resumed to test gas reserves using a workover rig when the explosion occurred. Firefighting teams and officials have been working through the night to contain the flames. Authorities have confirmed that no injuries or loss of life have been reported so far, while precautionary measures remain in place for nearby villagers as the situation continues to be monitored.
