Amitabh Bachchan was born to noted Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and social activist Teji Bachchan. He has been married to veteran actor and politician Jaya Bachchan nee Bhaduri since 1973. The couple has two children Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan. The latter is also a successful actor married to actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, continuing the Bachchan family's cinematic legacy.
