Al Qaeda Chief Ayman al-Zawahiri, one of the world's most wanted terrorists and a mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attacks, was killed in a drone strike carried out by the US in the Afghan capital Kabul. Announcing that a US drone strike had killed Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri, a mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, US President Joe Biden said "justice has been delivered and this terrorist leader is no more". In a statement, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that a strike took place on Sunday in Kabul. He strongly condemned the operation, calling it a violation of "international principles."
