Actor Fatima Sana Shaikh Reveals Why She Did Not Want To Play A 'Typical Cop' In Hunkkaar

At the NDTV Yuva 2026 session titled Fatima No Filter, the actress opened up about her powerful role as ACP Jasleen Singh Soin (also referred to as Jasleen Soni) in the recently released series Hunkkaar. Speaking of playing a cop, Fatima Sana Shaikh spoke about how she did not want to portray a typical officer or make it solely about 'physicality'. She said, "I was very excited to play a cop, but I did not want to play a typical cop, like enter into the physicality - I wasn't interested. I was curious to get into the mind of an officer. I met a lot of officers of different ranks - constables, inspectors. I was lucky that they were also open to share their stories, contradictions and everything."
