On the banks of the Saryu, devotees describe today's grand flag-hoisting at the Ram Mandir as the emotional culmination of a centuries-long spiritual movement. Locals and pilgrims say the moment is deeply personal, not political - symbolising the true completion of the temple, as a Hindu shrine is considered whole only once the divine flag is raised. The massive Dharma Dhwaja, visible for miles, is seen as the final establishment of the sacred structure.
