5 Decades Of Saving The Tiger | NDTV Focus

In more ways than one, tiger conservation has been a success story in India. Much more could have been done; there were disastrous gaps in between, but more than 50 years after India had decided to save the big cat there is a lot to be satisfied about. More than 50% of all wild tigers in the world are found in India. But even as India celebrates its remarkable conservation gains, there are major challenges that remain - from sanctuary fragmentation to habitation conflicts, from trained personnel shortage to poaching.
