₹35 Lakh Sabarimala Ghee Funds Under Vigilance Scanner
The Kerala High Court has ordered a Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau probe into alleged misappropriation of over ₹35 lakh from the sale of Adiya Sishtam ghee at the Sabarimala temple. Flagging serious accounting lapses, delayed remittance and possible involvement of senior officials within the Travancore Devaswom Board, the court expressed shock over systemic failures. One employee has been suspended, and the vigilance team has been directed to submit a progress report within a month. The issue has triggered a political row, with the BJP accusing both the LDF and UDF of shielding those involved.
