21 Killed, Questions Remain: Probe Ordered Into Delhi Hotel Blaze

A day after a devastating hotel fire in Delhi's Malviya Nagar claimed 21 lives, authorities have launched a series of measures aimed at preventing similar tragedies. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has ordered a month-long joint enforcement drive involving Delhi Police, MCD, power department officials and other agencies to inspect hotels, inns, nursing homes and coaching institutes for fire safety compliance. A magisterial inquiry and a joint committee probe have also been ordered to investigate lapses.
