2012 Monsoon: Bumper crop or devastating drought?

The rains so far have been deficient by almost 29 per cent. However, it will be the month of July that defines the success of the Kharif crop. If the spread of rainfall is not consistent, it could mean serious trouble, and it's the last thing that India needs at a time when the economy is floundering.
