  Mining major Vedanta Ltd on Thursday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 11,181.26 crore in the March quarter last fiscal due to a non-cash impairment charge of Rs 12,304 crore largely relating to Cairn India.

  The company, which was earlier known as Sesa Sterlite, had reported a net profit of Rs 1,621.55 crore for the same period in the previous fiscal, it said in a filing to the BSE.

  For the entire 2014-15 fiscal, the firm reported a 17.8 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 8,178 crore compared to Rs 6,904 crore in 2013-14.

• Sterlite Q4 net rises 51% at Rs 1,925 crore

  For the entire 2012-13 fiscal, the company reported net profit of Rs 6,060 crore, up 26 per cent.

• Sterlite Industries Q4 net seen 10.6% up at Rs 1413 crore

  Sales for the period are seen coming in 1.5 per cent higher at Rs 10931.46 crore against Rs 10762.75 crore during the same period last year.
