Press Note on 2G spectrum changed at the last minute: Attorney General GE Vahanvati

The controversial press note regarding 2G licences was changed at the last minute by then Telecom Minister A Raja in 2008 with a different pen, former Solicitor General G E Vahanvati told the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on Tuesday, contending that his trust had been betrayed in the process.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has sought Attorney General GE Vahanvati's opinion on the Supreme Court's order on 2G spectrum allocation. Sources tell NDTV that the Prime Minister has sought a response on whether the government needs to file a review petition and if any action needs to be taken against officials of the Prime Minister's Office.
