Pune : In a widely-shared video, workers at a shop in Maharashtra's Pune are publicly humiliated and forced to do sit-ups, allegedly for not donating money for a Ganesha festival.
On August 15, 10 men were forced to stand in a row, hold their ears and do sit-ups in a traffic-stopping spectacle outside a bakery in the Bhosri area on the outskirts of the city.
The bakery owner, who was not present during this incident, has filed an FIR or police complaint against the three men behind the "punishment"- Prakash Landage, Ganesh Landage and Mahesh Mare.
They have been arrested on charges of "wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation and extortion."
The three allegedly went to the shop and demanded Rs 151 from the workers, who refused, saying their boss was not in so they couldn't pay.
The accused men then went on to abuse and humiliate the workers as people on the road watched.
