In the crash involving the Honda City, the speeding car was going from Girgaum to Chawpatty when, near a turning, it lost control and rammed into a stationary Toyota. -
The impact of the crash was such that the stationary Toyota turned turtle and the other one was reduced to a mangled heap after it rolled over several times. -
One of the occupants of the Honda City, 16-year-old Shifa, succumbed to her injuries. She was admitted to Jaslok hospital. The other occupants include 14-year-old Sania, who is in the ICU; 17-year-old Mohsin who has been sent home after treatment; and Mohsin's friend, 20-year-old Faizan, who was driving the car. -
In the accident involving the Porsche, Ankesh Shahra, son of Dinesh Shahra, the MD of Ruchi Soya, was arrested after he knocked down a motorcyclist while speeding in his car. -
Ankesh was booked for rash and negligent driving but was released on bail within hours.
The motorcyclist is now in hospital with head and leg injuries.
