Security agencies are on high alert ever since Indian Mujahideen operative Salman confessed during police interrogation that there was a plan to bomb the Palace on Wheels. -
The alert was issued after the interrogation of Salman Ahmed, an alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorist, arrested a few days ago from Sidharthnagar, close to Nepal border. -
Salman had revealed that terrorist outfits were planning to remove portions of the track on the route taken by the luxury train. -
The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation has been on its toes, extending maximum security to the train. -
Since Tuesday, the train is being rigorously screened at every halt. -
It arrived in Jaipur on Thursday amid tight security. -
The train is scheduled to leave for Jaislamer on Friday. -
The Palace on Wheels was India's first train luxury train. It was launched by the Indian Railways to promote tourism in Rajasthan, and has been highly popular since its launch.
Following its success, other luxury and tourist trains have been started on other routes in the country. -
Rated among the finest luxury train journeys in the world, it starts its eight-day trip from Delhi and travels to all famous destinations in Rajasthan before touching on Agra and returning to Delhi.
