Priyanka, walking past an audience that had Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Hamid Ansari in the front row, was a ray of sunshine in a yellow sari and a pearl necklace.
Priyanka's team posted an image of the actress after she was awarded. On Twitter, Priyanka, who has been shooting abroad, wrote: 'Such a proud moment. To be back in my country. My capital. Rashtrapati Bhavan. Receiving the Padma Shri.'
Legendary Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, at his ethnic best in a Nehru Jacket, collected the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award.

Rajinikanth was accompanied by wife Latha - daughter Soundarya tweeted a photo of her parents at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
