Akshay Kumar performed the last rites of his mother Aruna Bhatia, who died due to age-related issues on Wednesday morning, at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai.

His wife and author Twinkle Khanna was pictured arriving at the crematorium to pay her last respects to her mother-in-law.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh, who is a close friend of Akshay Kumar and has featured with him in several films, was also there.

Director Rohit Shetty, who worked with Akshay Kumar on <i>Sooryavanshi</i>, also attended the cremation of his friend's mother.
