At one time, the region of South Carolina was not the best investment destination in US. However, later Boeing and other companies moved into the region in a big manner. Therefore, this is a meeting in which the Prime Minister is likely to make independent assurances about investment plans.

Top investment firms have already stated as to what they expect from India in terms of labour reforms, land reforms as well as India's stand on WTO's trade facilitation agreement. Business leaders would also be looking for India's stand on industry-specific problems such as retrospective tax.
