A case of ragging involving a class 9 student has emerged from the Madhav Boys Hostel in the Kaliyabid area of Bhavnagar. According to the victim's father, the minor was repeatedly subjected to physical violence, intimidation, and forced labour by four senior Class 12 NEET aspirant students, with the alleged involvement of two hostel rectors.

CCTV footage capturing the physical assault and psychological torture has surfaced, leading to an official police complaint after initial grievances went unaddressed by hostel authorities.

The complainant alleged that the senior students regularly beat his son with slippers and sticks, forced him to give body massages, perform chores, and forced him to smoke cigarettes while recording videos to blackmail him.

Areas lacking CCTV coverage were reportedly used to execute the physical abuse, while severe threats prevented the victim from speaking out sooner. The persistent harassment severely impacted the student's mental and physical health, prompting his family to demand a comprehensive medical evaluation and strict legal action.

In a shocking response to the allegations, the administrator of Madhav Boys Hostel dismissed the claims as fabricated, asserting that the victim had prior behavioral complaints and was not subjected to forced ragging.

The management stated that the hostel maintains strict midnight curfews and full surveillance, though they confirmed the immediate termination of the involved rectors following the preliminary dispute. Regarding the video evidence, the administration claimed the student appeared to act voluntarily rather than under duress.

The Bhavnagar police have formally registered an FIR following the written complaint and have initiated a detailed probe into the matter. Police officials are currently reviewing the submitted CCTV footage and medical test of victim to ascertain the full extent of the physical torture.
