A man was shot dead by a hunter, "mistaking" him for a wild animal in Manipur's Churachandpur district on Monday, officials said.

The man has been identified as Ginkhansuan Guite (60) and was allegedly shot dead by his fellow hunter at Mualnuam area in the district.
