Darbhanga, Bihar: A man allegedly killed his wife and two children by setting them on fire in Bihar's Darbhanga district. The incident took place in Teksar village. The man allegedly burnt his family after an altercation, police said today.
"The man, identified as Mohammad Haroon allegedly burnt his wife Rukhsana Khatun (22) and their two children, Zishan (4) and Ena (1), last night following a quarrel between him and his wife," Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dilnawaz Ahmed said.
The woman and children died on the spot, he said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital.
"The accused fled from the village after the incident," Mr Ahmed said, adding that "a murder case has been registered against Haroon by his wife's mother."
Mr Ahmed said that an investigation into the matter is currently under way.
