At least two school girls were burnt in an acid attack while returning from school in Punjab. The two attackers, who used a motorcycle, have escaped, said police sources in Gurdaspur, where the attack took place.
The girls have been admitted to a government hospital in Amritsar; one of them is critical.
The main accused, 19-year-old Saajan, had earlier been suspended from school on charges of assault.
He has allegedly told the police said that he threw acid to take revenge from the girls.
A case has been registered against the accused and his unidentified accomplice and search is on to find them, police said.
