A historic French mansion once owned by legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has been put up for sale, offering buyers a rare chance to own a piece of fashion and royal history at a relatively modest price, according to CNN.

Located less than an hour from Paris, the seven-bedroom property, known as Manoir du Mee, is listed for 2.7 million euros (around Rs 27 crore). According to estate agency PYLA Paris, the 18th-century residence later became home to Princess Caroline of Monaco and her family.

As reported by CNN, Lagerfeld owned the mansion for over a decade until 1998. During his time there, the house served as a backdrop for several campaigns by Chanel, including shoots featuring French model Ines de la Fressange.

The property, built in 1749, has also been home to notable figures such as actress Renee Saint-Cyr. It spans around 500 square metres and sits within 1.25 acres of landscaped grounds. The estate includes a guest house, elegant reception rooms, a library lounge, and classic features such as Versailles parquet flooring and fireplaces.

The current owner purchased the mansion from Monaco's royal family in 2014 and has maintained it in excellent condition. Estate agents suggest it could serve as a family home, creative retreat, or exclusive venue.

Lagerfeld, who died in 2019, was known for his passion for unique homes. One of his Paris apartments sold for 10 million euros (around Rs 100 crore) in 2024, nearly double its original asking price of 5.3 million euros (around Rs 53 crore), reflecting continued interest in his legacy.
