Legendary actor Dharmendra died on November 24. In an earlier interview, the actor said that his family has never been given its due.

Dharmendra said that he felt that not just he and Sunny, but Bobby Deol too is doing well, yet their collective work often goes "unacknowledged." In a conversation with Times Now, Dharmendra said that his family doesn't believe in "marketing" itself and prefers to let their work speak for them.

He mentioned that Sunny, despite being part of two of the biggest blockbusters, has never boasted about his achievements.

"But my family has never been given our due," Dharmendra said, adding that they thrive on the love of their fans and "don't mind" the industry not recognising their contribution to Hindi cinema.

He also recalled that he didn't receive any award for his performance in the 1969 film Satyakam, which also featured Sharmila Tagore, Ashok Kumar, and Sanjeev Kumar.

Veteran actor Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema's most celebrated stars, died on Monday at the age of 89. The actor was on ventilator support at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital for quite some time after complaining of breathlessness.

Dharmendra is survived by his wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and his six children - Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha, and Ahana.
