Within hours of ticket sales going live, the film has sold around 2.6 lakh tickets and earned Rs 19.44 crore in advance booking revenue.

The Kannada version is leading the sales, while the Hindi release has also made a substantial contribution. The language-wise figures stand at around Rs 7.72 crore for Kannada and Rs 3.86 crore for Hindi, with the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions accounting for the remaining collections.

A total of 1.6 lakh tickets have already been sold in Karnataka even though the film is still several days away from its theatrical release. Maharashtra is the second-highest contributor, with its gross collection, including blocked seats, estimated at around Rs 1.81 crore. Delhi follows in third place with an estimated gross of approximately Rs 1.19 crore.

Toxic gets "A" certificate

Toxic is also drawing attention for its adult-oriented content, reflected in the certifications it has received in India and the UK. The CBFC has cleared the Yash-starrer with an ‘A' certificate, meaning only adult audiences will be allowed to watch it in India.

The film has received an 18 rating from the BBFC in the UK. The British censor has reportedly flagged content involving threats, drugs, sexual violence and self-harm. Violence, sex and injury detail have received the highest content ratings.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic also features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles. The film releases in theatres on August 26.
