- Kriti Sanon featured in a Raksha Bandhan ad wearing an off-white bralette blouse and cape
- The ad showed Kriti tying a rakhi on a dog, extending the ritual to her pet
- Social media users criticised Kriti's modern outfit for the traditional festive campaign
Kriti Sanon is no stranger to experimenting with fashion, often balancing traditional silhouettes with contemporary touches. However, her latest festive look has sparked a debate online.
The actor was featured in a Raksha Bandhan advertisement. She wore an off-white bralette-style blouse paired with a cape and a draped skirt. The modern outfit drew criticism from some social media users, who questioned her choice for the festive campaign.
The presence of the dog in the advertisement also did not sit well with several users. In the campaign, Kriti is seen tying a traditional rakhi on the dog after he barks at her, extending the festive ritual to her pet as a way of including him in the family celebrations.
Some users accused the brand of making a mockery of Indian festivals, while others questioned the concept. Kriti's outfit also became a particular talking point, with one describing it as “extremely shameful.”
One user wrote, "In this ad, Kriti Sanon is tying rakhi in a bra kinda attire. Nudity was not this common before."
"First in my bloodline to see a woman tie Rakhi to her brother while wearing a bra!!" read a comment.
Someone else commented, "This is an ad from a jewellery brand featuring a Bollywood actress for Raksha Bandhan. In this ad, she is wearing a skimpy outfit while celebrating Raksha Bandhan. Not just that, she also got a Rakhi for her dog, giving the dog more importance than her brother. Spirit of Raksha Bandhan is being ruined and disrespected."
"Where is Puja Ki thali ? Why are you wearing bra in front of your brother? Is this a Raksha Bandhan? Where is Tilak?" remarked a user.
Kriti Sanon is yet to respond to the criticism, while the advertisement continues to receive mixed reactions from social media users.
