Los Angeles: Five years after the city of New Orleans was devastated by 'Hurricane Katrina', actress Sandra Bullock has come out to celebrate one of the biggest success stories of recovery from destruction.

The Oscar-winning actress, who is a resident of the city, will join Mayor Mitch Landrieu for the ribbon cutting of a new $700,000 health clinic she helped fund at Warren Easton Charter High School, People reported online.

According to her representative, "Bullock will not focus on her much-dissected personal life, but rather on a school and a city that have become vital parts of her life."

"This is a cause that is extremely important to her," added her representative.The Proposal star's seven-month-old son Louis was born in the city and among her chief causes has been the historical public school, which sustained $4 million in damages when the quake has struck New Orleans.

Bullock has donated an undisclosed amount to help rebuild the school.
