Awarapan 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Emraan Hashmi Film To Cross Rs 170 Crore Mark (Worldwide)

Emraan Hashmi's film Awarapan 2 has entered its second week on a steady note at the box office. The romantic action drama, which released in theatres on August 14, has continued to attract audiences after opening to strong numbers.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Awarapan 2 earned Rs 5.50 crore nett in India on Day 8. With this, the film's domestic nett collection has reached Rs 119 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 141.87 crore.

The film has also continued its run in overseas markets. On Day 8, Awarapan 2 added Rs 1 crore to its overseas gross, taking the international collection to Rs 27.30 crore. The film's worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 169.17 crore, putting it close to the Rs 170-crore mark.

Awarapan 2 recorded an overall India occupancy of 15.19 per cent on Day 8, with the film being screened across 9,858 shows. The numbers indicate that the film has maintained a steady hold as it moves into its second week.

Background

The film opened with Rs 22 crore on Day 1 before witnessing a jump over the weekend. It earned Rs 33.75 crore on Day 2 and Rs 26 crore on Day 3. The collection then dropped to Rs 9.25 crore on Day 4, followed by Rs 9.75 crore on Day 5, Rs 6.75 crore on Day 6 and Rs 6 crore on Day 7. On Day 8, the film added another Rs 5.50 crore, taking its total India nett collection for the first eight days to Rs 119 crore.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 is a sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan. The film stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Puran Gabbi, Aniruddh Rawal, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Atul Kumar.

Produced by Vishesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt under the Vishesh Films banner, the film follows Shivam Pandit as he gets pulled back into the world of crime while dealing with love, sacrifice and redemption.
