Akanksha Chamola has opened up about her experience on Lock Upp 2. The actress announced her separation from her husband and actor Gaurav Khanna in the premiere episode. Later in the season, Gaurav briefly entered the show to meet Akanksha. She has now revealed that the visit left her feeling “shattered” as he shared certain information about her family. It made her reconsider the way she had been playing the game.
During her appearance on Farah Khan's YouTube channel, Akanksha said, “What had happened was there was some information which was passed on to me when he [Gaurav] entered. When I came to Lock Upp, I came with the mindset that okay everything is okay at home. Though they didn't know about the secret that there will be something huge.”
She added, “So when the information was passed on to me that things are not right back home, that is what shattered me. My home. It wasn't right, what I got to know. The way I am in front of the world is because I have that much confidence in my family. They know what I am doing and they have accepted that. So when that information came, for me I kept on thinking what happened, till the time one doesn't know.”
Farah further shared that she had a feeling things could take an unexpected turn after Gaurav's entry into the show. She told Akanksha that the revelations about her personal life had created a major stir and praised her for being so open about her experiences on television.
For the unversed, Akanksha had previously revealed that she is bisexual and does not wish to have children. She also spoke about the reasons behind her decision to divorce Gaurav. She clarified that she does not want to have children even through adoption, as she has chosen to remain child-free, while Gaurav wants to become a parent.
Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna first met during an audition in 2015. After dating for a brief period, the couple married within 8 months of their first meeting. Akanksha publicly confirmed their divorce during the premiere of Lock Upp Season 2.
