Sara Ali Khan's Vogue cover appears to have left the Internet entirely unimpressed. The stripped to essentials image shows Sara draped in silky green fabric, posed against a dark red background, bare arms raised above her head. Whatever vibe the photoshoot was aiming for, it seems to have passed most folks by. The comments on Vogue India's post on Instagram are both brutal and hilarious. "Aishwarya from Taal," read one pithy comment – now that it's been mentioned, Sara's pose does look somewhat like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the song Ramta Jogi from 1999 hit Taal.
"When teacher gives you punishment and says hands up," joked another comment. "Armpit," read a third. Someone thought the image was "Giving Rekha" – a reference to the way the drape covers Sara's head.
Many were dismissive of the styling in the shoot. "Who draped this fabric/saree? Is this a Vogue cover?" asked a comment. "Why would you do this to her? The drape is a mess," wrote someone else. Someone thought the image was "Giving Rekha" – a reference to the way the drape covers Sara's head. Another comment dismissed the cover as "Sasta (cheap) photoshop."
