About Sreerampur

The Sreerampur Lok Sabha constituency consists of Jagatballavpur, Domjur, Uttarpara , Sreerampur, Champdani, Chanditala and Jangipara assembly segments.

The Sreerampur constituency comes 543 parliamentary constituencies in India.

The Sreerampur lok sabha constituency went to polls on May 6 in the fifth phase of 2019 general election. The poll results will be released on May 23.

A total of 17, 83,986 electorates have been registered in this constituency this time among which are 9, 14,863 male voters, 8, 69, 085 female voters and 38 third gender voters.

This time 2033 polling stations have been assigned to conduct the voting process smoothly.

Two-time MP and the incumbent parliamentarian from the Sreerampur seat, Kalyan Banerjee, will contest for the seat this time as well. Kalyan Banerjee has represented the constituency twice as a TMC candidate. In 2014 he had defeated CPI (M) fielded Tirthankar Ray by a margin of 1, 52,526 votes.

In 1998 and 1999, All India Trinamool Congress candidate Akbar Ali Khandokar won the elections.

After, AITCs tenure in 2004, Santasri Chatterjee from CPI (M) won the General elections.

A total of eleven candidates are in fray for the Sreerampur seat this time, among which are three independent candidates.

Among key contestants are Kalyan Banerjee from INC, Tirthankar Ray from CPIM, Debjit Sarkar from BJP, Debabrata Biswas from INC and LachmanRajak from BSP.
