About Ludhiana

The Ludhiana Lok Sabha constituency consists of Ludhiana East, Ludhiana South, Atam Nagar, Ludhiana Central, Ludhiana West, Ludhiana North, Gill, Dakha, Jagraon assembly segments. Under this constituency the Gill and Jagraon assembly seats fall under the scheduled caste category. 

The constituency went to polls on May 19 in the seventh phase of 2019 general elections. The poll results will be released on May 23.

INC's Ravneet Singh Bittu is the sitting MP from this constituency. In 2014 he defeated Harvinder Singh Phoolka, the AAAP nominated candidate in this seat by a margin of 19709. He is a two-time Member of Parliament. He I also a member of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Society and the Committee on Public Undertakings.   

This time the lok sabha elections will have Baba Sukhwinder Singh Gill, who was the Nationalist Congress Party nominated candidate from this constituency along with AAP's Tej Pal Singh Gill, SAD's Maheshinder Singh Grewal and INC's Ravneet Singh Bittu. They are among the 22 candidates who are in fray for the seat, of which are four independent candidates.

The General Elections of 2014 saw a total voter turnout of 1,561,201.
