In 2014 general elections, Raksha Khadse of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was elected from Raver Lok Sabha constituency with a heavy margin of 3,18,068 votes. Ms Khadse was polled 6,05,452 while the runner-up Manishdada Jain of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) bagged 2,87,384 votes.
The Raver Lok Sabha constituency, which was formed after the 2008 delimitation process of parliamentary constituencies in India, was won first by BJP in 2009.
In 2019 general elections, BJP has re-nominated Raksha Nikhil Khadse to fight against Indian National Congress' Ulhas Patil.
Incidentally, Raksha Khadse is the daughter-in-law of senior BJP leader Eknath Khadse, who was forced to quit the state cabinet in June 2015 following allegations of corruption, and continues to remain in political wilderness.
The Raver Lok Sabha constituency consists of six Assembly segments from Maharashtra Legislative Assembly; they are: Chopda (ST), Raver, Bhusawal (SC), Jamner, Muktainagar, and Malkapur
The Raver Lok Sabha constituency, situated in North Maharashtra, has a total of 15,93,370 voters, including 8,42,682 men and 7,50,688 women.
In 2019 general elections for which the polling was held on April 23, Raver saw 61.40 per centvoter turnout as compared to 63.48 per cent last time.
