Parbhani Lok Sabha constituency, a Shiv Sena stronghold, is currently held by Sanjay Jadhav who won 2014 general elections with a margin of 1,27,155. Mr Jadhav, a Shiv Sena candidate, had polled 5,78,455 votes while Nationalist Congress Party or NCP's Vijay Bhambale secured 4,51,300 votes.
In 2019 general elections, Sanjay Jadhav is locking horns in a triangular contest with NCP's Rajesh U. Vitekar and Communist Party of India's RR Kshirsagar.
Parbhani has been a Shiv Sena bastion since 1989, except the years 1998 and 1999, when it went to the Congress.
The rural-agro economy-based constituency has 18,03,792 voters including 9,45,899 males and 8,57,893 females.
Parbhani Lok Sabha constituency consists of six Assembly segments. They are: Jintur, Parbhani, Gangakhed, Pathri, Partur and Ghansawangi.
