Beed Lok Sabha constituency is currently represented by Pritam Munde, the younger daughter of the late BJP leader Gopinath Munde.
Ms Munde scripted history with a record victory margin of around 7 lakh votes in the Lok Sabha by-elections from her father's home turf, Beed. The victory margin was even bigger than that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's, who won the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat in 2014 general elections by 5.7 lakh votes. Pritam Munde bagged 9,22,416 votes, trouncing former Congress minister Ashok Patil, who secured 2,26,095 votes.
Ms Munde's victory came in a 2014 by-election necessitated by the death of her father in an accident in New Delhi.
In the 2014 general elections, Gopinath Munde bagged 6,35,995 votes while his nearest rival Suresh Ramchandra Dhas of the Nationalist Congress Party or NCP got 4,99,541 votes.
Gopinath Munde had represented the constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha after defeating Ramesh Baburao Kokate (Adaskar) of NCP in the 2009 general elections.
The Beed constituency was earlier represented by Jaisingrao Gaikwad Patil who was an NCP nominee in 2004, and a BJP candidate in 1998 and 1998.
Beed Lok Sabha constituency has six assembly segments: Georai, Majalgaon, Beed, Ashti, Kaij, and Parli.
This constituency voted on April 18 during the second phase of 2019 Lok Sabha election.
