About Kurukshetra

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Raj Kumar Saini of the Bharatiya Janata Party was elected from the Kurukshetra constituency in Haryana. He won with 4,18,112 votes defeating Balbir Singh Saini of the Indian National Lok Dal by a margin of 1,29,736 votes.

In the 2009 general elections, Naveen Jindal of the Indian National Congress won the Kurukshetra constituency by securing 3,97,204 votes (45.37 per cent of the total votes polled in the constituency) . His closest opponent was Ashok Kumar Arora of the Indian National Lok Dal who received 2,78,475 votes (31.81 per cent).

There are nine assembly seats under the Kurukshetra constituency: Radaur, Ladwa, Shahbad, Thanesar, Pehowa, Guhla, Kalayat, Kaithal and Pundri.

Voting for the Kurukshetra constituency was conducted in the sixth phase of general elections 2019 on May 12.

For the 2019 general elections, Nayab Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party is contesting against Nirmal Singh of the Indian National Congress, Arjun Singh Chautala of the Indian National Lok Dal, and Shashi of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
