- Ladakh offers 2,000 paid internships across 25 government departments in 2026

The Ladakh administration has opened applications for 2,000 paid internship opportunities across 25 government departments, giving students and young people in the Union Territory a chance to gain practical experience in public administration.
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 during the three-month internship. Registrations opened on August 22 and will remain open until September 5, 2026.
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena launched the 'Zhabstok Ladakh' Youth Internship Portal on Saturday. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official portal at internship.ladakh.gov.in
Document verification for applicants will be conducted from September 6 to September 14, while the internship is scheduled to begin on September 17.
Under the LG Yuva Internship Programme, selected candidates will work with different departments of the Ladakh administration and get first-hand exposure to how government offices function.
Interns will also get an opportunity to understand how policies and proposals are translated into programmes and projects on the ground.
According to the administration, candidates will be allotted departments based on their skills and interests.
Best Performers May Get Three-Month Extension
The initial internship will run for three months. However, the best-performing candidates may be offered an extension of another three months, based on their performance during the programme.
Participants will also receive certificates after completing the internship.
Speaking at the launch, Lieutenant Governor Saxena said the programme would allow young people to gain practical experience while contributing their ideas to different government departments.
With a large proportion of Ladakh's population below the age of 30, the administration expects the programme to bring more young people into government-linked projects and public administration work.
