JEE Main Result 2017: Know Who Qualifies For Advanced Exam
New Delhi: JEE Main 2017 results are declared today by CBSE and the students are now getting ready for the JEE advanced exam. According to the JEE Advanced notification, the candidates who want to appear in the next stage of exam should be among the top 2,20,000 (including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper-1 of JEE Main 2017.

The percentages, as per JEE Advanced rules, of various categories are: 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and the remaining 50.5% is OPEN for all.

Within each of these four categories, 3% horizontal reservation is available for PwD (including Dyslexic) candidates, says the JEE Advanced notification.

As shown in the following table, the notification said, the usual order will be followed while choosing top 2,20,000 candidates in various categories who have scored positive marks in JEE Main 2017.

This year the JEE Main cut-off was set at 81 for general candidates, but, last year, the cut-off was 100.
10.20 lakh students appeared in the JEE main exam this year.

Based on JEE Main rankings, about 2.20 lakh top scorers will be given chance to appear in JEE Advanced 2017, reported IE.

The JEE advanced registration will start tomorrow.
