Indian Institute Of Management Raipur: Professor Bharat Bhasker Takes Charge As Director

Professor Professor Bharat Bhasker of Indian Institute of Management Lucknow took charge as the director of Indian Institue of Management (IIM) Raipur. Professor Bharat Bhasker has been associated with IIM Lucknow for last 21 years. He also acted as an Interim director at IIM Lucknow for a period of five months during July 2015 and November 2015. IIM Raipur has been set up by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2010 at Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.
Prof Bhasker was earlier with the information technology (IT) and systems department of IIM Lucknow. Presently IIM Raipur works from the Government Engineering College Campus, Raipur.
He is an alumnus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Field Of Study Computer Science from Virginia and earned his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree from IIT Roorkee.
The Chhattisgarh Government has allotted over 200 acres of land for the proposed IIM Raipur campus in Naya Raipur.
Last month, Dr. Neelu Rohmetra of Jammu University was appointed as the director of Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh and she has become the first woman to helm an IIM in that capacity.
