Government Summer Internships 2026: The Indian government is currently offering two internship opportunities for students-one with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the other with the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology under the National Informatics Centre Services Incorporated (MeitY-NICSI).
NHAI Internship 2026
The NHAI internship aims to provide students with hands-on experience in India's national highway development. Students from engineering, IT, AI, management, law, commerce, and other disciplines can apply until April 15, 2026, through the official application portal.
Candidates can register using their email ID, mobile number, and other required details. After registration, they must log in to the same portal to complete the application process.
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs 20,000 per month for a duration of two months (May to July 2026) and will be awarded a certificate upon successful completion.

MeitY-NICSI Internship
Students must apply by April 10, 2026, on the official NICSI website - nicsi.nic.in. The duration of the internship under the NICSI Paid Internship Scheme is six months.
To apply, visit the official portal at nicsi.nic.in/nicsi/internship and register using your name, email ID, phone number, institute, degree, semester, and CGPA/percentage. Verify all details carefully before submission, as the information cannot be modified once submitted. Complete OTP verification to activate your registration.
After registering, log in using your email ID and password, fill in all required personal and academic details, and upload the necessary documents, including a photograph, No Objection Certificate (NOC), forwarding letter, and academic mark sheets. Click on "Submit" to complete the application.
Selected candidates will be required to submit a NOC and a forwarding letter issued by the competent authority of their institute or university at the time of joining. Applicants will be notified of their status via their registered email ID. This will be a paid internship.
The summer batch for the NICSI internship will run from July to December, while the winter batch will be held from January to June. Registrations for the winter batch typically begin between October and December.
