DUSU Election 2025 Live Updates: Voting for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections has concluded. The first shift of polling ended at 1 PM, while the second shift began at 3 PM and continued until 7:30 PM for students of evening colleges. The elections saw a voter turnout of 35% till 2:30 pm. The results will determine who assumes the positions of president, vice-president, secretary, and joint secretary of DUSU, along with representatives for college-level offices.
The vote counting will begin today, at 8:00 AM onwards at the Multipurpose Hall, University Sports Stadium, North Campus, University of Delhi.
This year, 21 students are contesting for the four key panel positions. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for polling, and counting of votes is scheduled for Friday.
To ensure the elections are conducted without disruption, the university has tightened security on campuses, making the event one of the most closely observed in recent times. Nearly 700 EVMs will be deployed across 195 polling stations.
In a first, under the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP), third-year students have been permitted to run for the vice-president and joint secretary posts, a move that lifts the earlier restriction on final-year students.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) condemned incidents of alleged violence during the DUSU elections at multiple locations, including Kirori Mal College and Hansraj College, holding the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) responsible. The organisation has demanded strict action from the administration.
ABVP alleged that NSUI resorted to violence out of fear of defeat, describing the incidents as a result of the rival group’s frustration.
The ABVP dismissed NSUI’s claims regarding alleged irregularities with EVMs and other charges, calling them baseless and devoid of facts.
According to ABVP, it would strongly oppose what it described as the “false narrative” propagated by the student wing of the Congress party and its supporters.
ABVP's National General Secretary Virendra Singh Solanki said, “The Congress party and Rahul Gandhi always blame the electoral process when they face defeat. The students of Delhi University will give them a fitting reply.”
On the alleged incident of ink being thrown on EVMs at a DU college, ABVP demanded that CCTV footage be released to expose NSUI’s false claims.
