BSc Nursing Course 2026: The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) has invited applications from female candidates who have cleared NEET UG 2026 for admission to its four-year BSc Nursing Course 2026. A total of 220 seats are available across colleges of nursing under the AFMS. Eligible candidates can apply through the official Indian Army recruitment website, joinindianarmy.nic.in.
The programme prepares candidates for a career in the Military Nursing Service (MNS). On successful completion of the course, candidates may be granted a Permanent Commission or Short Service Commission, subject to the prescribed selection procedure and service regulations.
Admission will be based on a final merit list prepared by considering candidates' NEET UG 2026 scores, performance in the Computer-Based Test of General Intelligence and General English (ToGIGE), psychological assessment, Selection Board interview, medical fitness, and the availability of seats at the allotted nursing college.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:
- Must have passed the 10+2 (Senior Secondary) examination in the first attempt with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, securing at least 50 per cent aggregate marks, or possess an equivalent qualification.
- Must have qualified NEET UG 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- The admission process is open only to female candidates.
- Candidates must have been born between October 1, 2001, and September 30, 2009 (both dates inclusive).
- The minimum height requirement is 152 cm. However, candidates belonging to hilly regions and the North-Eastern states are eligible with a minimum height of 147 cm.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of multiple stages:
- Candidates will first be shortlisted based on their NEET UG 2026 scores.
- Shortlisted applicants will be required to report to Base Hospital, Delhi Cantonment, for document verification with their original certificates.
- They will then appear for the Computer-Based Test of General Intelligence and General English (ToGIGE), comprising 40 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries two marks, while 0.5 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- Candidates who qualify the written test will undergo a psychological assessment and a Selection Board interview. The interview may assess knowledge of Class 12 core subjects, general awareness, current affairs, and personal interests.
- The final stage is a medical examination to determine candidates' fitness as per AFMS standards.
- A final merit list will be prepared after all stages of the selection process are completed.
Career Prospects
Candidates who complete the four-year BSc Nursing programme will be eligible for appointment as officers in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) under the Permanent Commission or Short Service Commission, in accordance with AFMS regulations. During the training period, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend, free ration, uniforms, and other admissible benefits.
